Day 4 - 02/08/14 - Brugge!

Hoi daar!  ('Hi there!' In Dutch, which is what they speak in the region where Brugge is.) After a breakie of bread and musli we packed our stuff and checked out of the Bauhaus hostel to check in to our new hostel for the night - The Europa.

It was quite a long walk from one side of the city to the other and as I wasn't quite used to the weight of my rucksack just yet, we did have to have a break next to what looked like Rapunzel's Tower.

We got a tad bit lost and admittedly knocked on a random person's door in hope that it was the hostel! Haha but managed to get at what looked similar to a prison reasonably early. As it was a bit out of the way of the centre, we hired bikes for the day for only 6 Euros!

First on the agenda was to give back Archie's key to the Bauhaus as he forgot to give it in!! So using our handy map we spotted some windmills quite near and had a little gander at those. And then of course we needed to cover the attractions - up the belfry tower, see 'Jesus' Blood' and eat some chocolate!

Also bought a proper belgian waffle! Which was the nicest I've ever had. Mmmm. We rode back stopping at the wonderful Aldi for some lunch and dinner (salad and pasta).

Checked into our rooms (separate sex!!) and I met nice American girls from Seattle and some Australian girls, whereas Archie ended up with an alright Austrailan guy and a crazy moody old Finnish guy.

We really wondered on our bikes for the last hour or so and chilled by cannal, it was so peaceful and pretty. Dropped bikes back and played a bit of ping pong. Warmed up our spag bol and lasagne in the microwave and chilled at the bar with funny barman and Archie's Australian roommate. Said goodnight and had an awful nights sleep :( I needed Archie!!
