I experienced something that only hostel stayers experience last night. Hearing and watching the late-nighters come back at stupid o'clock and making awkward eye contact with them as they tuck themselves into bed. There were a few occasions this happened, and a few times I felt a little bit apprehensive to stay in a hostel. But then again, I was probably someone to be scared of if I kept staring at people get into bed...
We got up quite late and had quite a luxury shower. Venturing into a part of Amsterdam we'd never seen before, we breakfasted at a place called Bagels and Beans - which was delicious mmmm! And it was such another sunny day! We didn't really have any aim for today, last time we came to Amsterdam we visited all the attractions; Anne Franks, Heineken, Van Gough, Sex Show!! So the stop off in this city was just for a relax.
Me and Archie found a supermarket to get some food sorted for our very first night train tonight and I also decided to start buying a badge from each country to sew onto my backpack :) We walked around and sat outside the main square, watching all the hustling and bustling going on.
Near to where we stayed last time, there was a quaint canal with a wooded platform on the one side. I can't even remember how much time we wasted lying there, basking in the gorgeous sun before using our Interrail pass again to visit our friend in Denmark.
As 7pm approached, we planned to spend a few hours on the train chatting to potential friends in our carriage, eating our grub and maybe playing a few card games. We were greeted by a dodgy-looking guy that was determined he was 'going to sleep now!' Forced to sit in the corridor to eat our dinner in daylight, this night train business didn't seem too fun... Although, when we woke up it did turn out to be a surprisingly nice nights sleep :)
